Driving force

Wings - The angle of attack as well as the aerodynamic efficiency, are kept in all wind directions.

Sails - Over 20⁰ AOA, the aerodynamic efficiency is smaller (lift is smaller and drag is bigger). In very large AOA, drag becomes the driving force.
